Big Spinning at Shred Fest!!

June 26th, 2014

I’m back in Dallas after a great trip to Colorado for the WWS Shred Fest put on by the Endless Wave Tour and Tige Boats.  We went last year and immediately planned on going back this year because of the good times, beautiful weather, fun people and, of course, Squid!

The Outlaw division was combined to include both surf and skim competitors.  And it was one of those days where everything seemed to click and I hit just about every trick I know during my run  – – including a Big Spin!  First time to land a surf style Big Spin in a competition!  It was awesome.  An Air Reverse, Ollie 720, Shuv In to Shuv Out were examples of some of the others.  I’m super stoked to have won First Place!

But like all these events, half the fun is hanging out with my buds and goofing off!  Good times for sure!  Eager to do that mountain wake surfing again next year!  Thanks to everyone and congratulations to all the riders.

Enjoy this picture of me right in the middle of the Big Spin!  Thanks to Tim Walker for the killer shot!10338674_10204266687693990_6458575330927124277_o

Surf Line 2014

June 19th, 2014

Josh Sleigh, an ocean surf master, board shaping legacy and editor of Alliancewakesurf.com, contacted me asking if I would shoot a “line” of surfing.  Must admit that I haven’t done one before but was stoked to take a shot of putting a decent run on film.  We ran out to the lake to give it a shot and the link below is what I threw down.  I’m pissed that I missed the Big Spin at the end but otherwise it is 3:15 of non-stop, surf-style tricks with no edits, no cuts, etc.  I’m motivated now to go out and lay an even better one down!

This past weekend took us up to Virginia to compete in the 2014 Lake Anna Wake Surf Open.  We had a great time and enjoyed hanging with all my buds and meeting some new friends too!  Weather and water conditions were perfect for a weekend of wake surfing!  I am happy to wrap up the weekend with a First Place in Men’s Outlaw Surf!  Now I’m off to the beaches of North Carolina with my great buddy Zane Montgomery!  Time to do some skimming on the beach!!

Arizona Wake Surf Open Wrap-Up

May 19th, 2014

I just landed back in Big D after having a ton of fun out in Arizona!  The 2014 Arizona Wake Surf Open was a big success.  Congrats to the crew that put this event on – lots of great improvements over last year’s gig.  It was great catching up with all my friends and making new ones.  Thanks to the Woon family for letting me surf their fantastic Mastercraft wave.  And I loved seeing Ryan’s cars – sick stuff!  Ryan is the man for high-end sports cars.  Thanks to the Smith family for giving me so much time on their Supreme.  They’re waiting on a new Centurion which sounds like it will be sweet!  And another thanks to the Baba crew for letting me surf their Centurion.  Between surfing with friends and doing the competition it was a packed weekend of fun!

Speaking of the competition, thankfully I rode well!  I surfed a solid run and ended up winning first place in the Outlaw Surf division. Lots of fantastic surfers at this event and I had fun with all of them.  Can’t wait to hit the next comp in June!  Selfie podium shot is below!  🙂

Supreme Wake Surf Championships Wrap-up

March 22nd, 2014

I kicked off the 2014 season in Parker, Arizona … wait a minute!  They copied my name… ok, maybe not. 🙂

Anyway, being the first competition of the season it was like a family reunion.  So cool to see everyone again.  We had a lot of fun and the setup was awesome – hotel, cantina, cable park all right on the water.  The wind was up and down at times but didn’t hold a candle to the winds last year down in Mexico. Overall, the venue and weather were great for some wake surfing.

Although I didn’t surf as well as I have been, I’m happy to report winning second place in Men’s Outlaw Surf division.  There were some great guys in my group and I have fun with them whether we surf or not!

And I don’t know how I did it but I ended up breaking a small bone in my foot.  I’ve got a boot on and will probably be out of training for the next month.  No surfing, no skate boards and no trampoline for a month!?!  Not sure what I’m going to do!

Can’t wait to get back on the water!

2014 Polar Vortex Video Release

January 30th, 2014

It wasn’t until this winter that I had heard the term “Polar Vortex”.  Had no idea what it was!  I learned that it means really cold weather – for a long time – EVEN IN FLORIDA!  I headed to Florida to kick off the new year with some training in “sunny and warm weather”…  NOT!  It didn’t happen.  But had a great time anyway and captured it all on video!!! Check it!

First Place at the Hill Country Flow Down!

November 4th, 2013

After wrapping up the 2013 wake surf season Parker spent some time on the local flow rider.  This weekend he competed in his very first flow rider competition in San Antonio, Texas and took first place in the Junior’s division by landing 180 and 360 Shuv Its and other tricks.  Watching the pros ride the wave was a lot of fun – some really sweet riding took place this weekend.  Met some great folks and enjoyed the fun event!
